This hotel offers excellent value for money, providing a budget-friendly option for young couples on a tight budget. The rooms are basic but well-maintained with necessary amenities, including a small kitchenette for self-catering. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. Additionally, the location is convenient, with easy access to the city center, public transportation, and nearby attractions.
There was nothing major that stood out as needing improvement.

good location for Funchal. Rooms basic but very clean with good linen and towels. Fantastic restaurant attached (already known by me as regular visitor to Madeira.) Good value for money and would use again.
No comfy chairs!

It was close to the Centre, Casino and the Hotel Zone. I would go back for the location.
The wardrobes were old and when you slide them across the made an noise, could do with some oil in the hinges. the cooker was hard to see the numbers as they were worn. There was some noise at night from the locals going home. Did not bother us to much as we slept most nights as were tired from walking.

The hotel is clean, has views of the ocean. Magnificent location really close to the center, bars and restaurants, and fab cake, it's central. Casa Velha Restaurant, located within 5 minutes' walk, is a good dining option.

Great Value for Money: My partner and I visited this hotel during Christmas and we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent value for money. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, providing us with all the tourist information we needed. Despite our failed attempts at speaking Portuguese, the staff were patient and friendly, and spoke perfect English.
Outdated Decor: While the hotel has maintained its charm and character over the years, some aspects of the decor could use an update. The fittings in the room were a bit worn-out and could have been better maintained.

The location is perfect to explore the city, the desk staff very helpful, good view from the roof top. Good value for money. There was little outside noise pre-Christmas, but a huge building site nearby might be a nuisance when work proceeds.
I had asked for a quiet apartment because other reviews had mentioned the noise level. Yes, it was quiet but gloomy, made you want to escape. Kitchenette equipped for hot drinks only.

Stayed here over New Year and it was great value for money. The location was perfect as it was within walking distance to all the key attractions and restaurants. The room was spacious and had a small kitchenette with everything we needed. The rooftop pool was a great addition and we enjoyed having a dip, even though it was a bit chilly. We also appreciated the friendly staff.
The breakfast wasn't as varied as we would have liked, and it got a bit repetitive after a few days. the beds were a bit uncomfortable, and we had trouble sleeping.

We recently stayed in an apartment hotel in Madeira and were very impressed with the location. It was just a short walk to the bus stop which took us to many places of interest. Even though it was down an even steeper hill, there were plenty of local restaurants that satisfied our appetites. we found the room, bathroom and service to be very good; we were delighted to discover a small kitchen unit where simple meals could be prepared. The nice size of the room, complete with balcony and cleanliness of the building, made our stay even more comfortable.
There was one thing that let the hotel down. The breakfast was not up to standard, which detracted from an overall enjoyable experience.
